Holmes looks to maintain winning start with Leek visit

The Motormen host Leek Town this evening at the VanEupen Arena as Danny Holmes takes to the dugout for the second time as Vauxhall Manager.

It is Holmes’ first managerial role and there was no greater opening challenge than high flying Clitheroe who visited Ellesmere Port on Saturday, where the Motormen found themselves victorious thanks to a Jordan Deer free kick.

Clitheroe were placed second in the Pitching In Northern Premier League Division One West, who Holmes’ side had to take on after just two training sessions.

Leek Town, managed by Josh Brehaut, are also placed towards the top of the division, in sixth, six points from Kidsgrove at the helm, with three games in hand. Thus, they will bring another great test.

The reason for their games in hand is due to their fantastic cup run achieved in the Emirates FA Cup this season. They reached the Fourth Qualifying Round, eventually being knocked out away at AFC Fylde of the Vanarama National League.
