There are many things to look forward to for all involved with Vauxhall Motors Football Club in the upcoming Calendar Year.

 

It looks like it will be a big year for the First Team, who are currently sat top of the league, but as well as this, for progression of the club both on and off the pitch.

 

In this report, we take a look at how January lines up for Vauxhall Motors First Team and what to expect over the next month.

 

Game 1 – Alsager Town

 

Opponent: Alsager Town

Location: Away

Competition: Cheshire Cup

Manager: Dean Jones, Dom Johnson

Stadium: Wood Park

League Table: 16th, NWCFL 1st South

Game 2 – Bury AFC

 

Opponent: Bury AFC

Location: Home

Competition: NWCFL Premier Division

Manager: Andy Welsh

Stadium: The VanEupen Arena

League Table: 8th

Top Scorer: Lewis Gilboy, 8

 

First competitive meeting between the two as Bury formed in December 2019.

 

Game 3 – Winsford United

 

Opponent: Winsford United

Competition: NWCFL Premier Division

Last meeting was when Michael Burkey scored an unbelievable winner to complete a fantastic comeback on his 100th appearance for Vauxhall Motors.

Game 4 – Wythenshawe Town

It’s a top of the table clash as Motors visit Wythenshawe – with Town being three points behind Vauxhalls at the time of writing.

 

Game 5 – FC Isle of Man

Location: Away

Competition: NWCFL Premier Division

Stadium: The Bowl

League Table: 18th

Top Scorer: Luke Murray, 7

 

Last time out, goals from Ben Holmes and Bobbie McDonnell secured a 2-1 win over the Manx at the VanEupen Arena.

 

Game 6 – Ashton Athletic

 

Opponent: Ashton Athletic

Location: Away

Competition: NWCFL Premier Division

Manager: Jay Foulds

Stadium: Brocstedes Park

League Table: 22nd

Top Scorer: 4 players on 4 goals each

 

It’s top v bottom in the North West Counties Premier Division, as Ashton attempt to get revenge on the league leaders after a 1-0 win for the Motormen at home thanks to a Tom Mitchell header.
