Motors look to bounce back on Friday night against Padiham

Padiham preview.

Vauxhall Motors host Padiham at the VanEupen Arena in NWCFL Premier action on Friday night.

Mick McGraa’s side will look to get back to winning ways following their 2-1 defeat to Avro on Saturday as a late Lewis Buckley strike wasn’t enough to salvage a point.

Padiham, nicknamed The Caldersiders as their previous ground was situated on the banks of the River Calder, are positioned 11th in the table and now play their games at The Ruby Civil Arena.

Their manager, Michael Morrison, is assisted by former player Ben Hoskin and the club was resurrected in 1949 after folding in 1916 when finding themselves unable to compete with clubs in nearby larger towns such as Burnley.

Morrison’s side have registered two wins from their last three outings and will travel to Ellesmere Port with the aim of continuing their climb up the table.

PADIHAM TOP GOALSCORER:
Joel Brownhill, 13 in 22 games.
However, Joel Melia is another one to watch as he has received the most man of the match awards this season.

PLAYING COLOURS:
Blue.

DID YOU KNOW?
It has been 27 games since Padiham’s last goalless draw.

LAST THREE HONOURS:
2013 – NWCFL Premier Division Champions, Reserve Division Champions, NHS Bird Cup Winners.

All support for Mick McGraa’s side is appreciated thus we look forward to seeing you at The VanEupen Arena.

Ticket details and more can be found on either club’s social media platforms/official websites.
