The Motormen return to action this Saturday afternoon as they host Cymru North side Ruthin Town, in the first of many summer 2023 friendlies.

Vauxhall come in to this busy schedule on a great high, having clinched the North West Counties Premier Division league title a couple of months prior. Thus, there is plenty of excitement around Ellesmere Port.

Assistant Manager, Joe Heath, has brought his time at The Motors to an end as he will be looking to achieve success in Australia. We wish him the best with that!

The experienced Alan Morgan has came in to provide assistance to manager Mick McGraa in what is a year to look forward to.

Ruthin provide the first summer test, simply nicknamed ‘The Town’ they finished 5th in The North Division last season.

In their early history Ruthin reached the Welsh Cup Final. However, they lost 2-1 to Druids.

It was quite a successful start to their time as a club as six players appeared for Wales between 1880 and 1895, Winger William Pierce Owen netting six in twelve appearances.
