Motors visit Padiham in rearranged fixture

Padiham preview – Tuesday 6th December 2022.

Vauxhall Motors face Padiham on Tuesday night in NWCFL Premier action following their 1-0 win on Friday, against the same opposition, with a Jordan Deer goal.

Mick McGraa’s side will look to go back to top of the NWCFL Premier Division table, but with goalkeeper Matthew Corran having to make fantastic stops under the VanEupen Arena lights last time out, the hosts will certainly provide a challenge.

Padiham, nicknamed The Caldersiders due to the location of their past venue, are positioned 11th in the table and play their games at The Arbories Memorial Sports Ground.

Their manager, Michael Morrison, is assisted by former player Ben Hoskin and the club was resurrected in 1949 after folding in 1916 when finding themselves unable to compete with clubs in nearby larger towns such as Burnley.

Morrison’s side have registered two wins from their last four outings and will look to get back to winning ways against The Motormen.

PADIHAM TOP GOALSCORER:
Joel Brownhill, 13 in 23 games.
However, Joel Melia is another one to watch as he has received the most man of the match awards this season.

PLAYING COLOURS:
Blue.

DID YOU KNOW?
It has been 28 games since Padiham’s last goalless draw.

LAST THREE HONOURS:
2013 – NWCFL Premier Division Champions, Reserve Division Champions, NHS Bird Cup Winners.

All support for Mick McGraa’s side is appreciated thus we look forward to seeing you at The VanEupen Arena.

Ticket details and more can be found on either club’s social media platforms/official websites.
