Vauxhall Motors start their competitive campaign with a FA Cup away tie against West Didsbury And Chorlton on Saturday afternoon.

It has been a fantastic summer for The Motormen as key players from a promotion winning side have been retained such as the likes of dangerous trickster Michael Burkey and forward, Lewis Buckley.

Mick McGraa has appointed Alan Morgan as his assistant manager following the departure of Joe Heath and players of a high standard have been recruited, including former Tranmere winger George Nugent and former Wrexham and Sunderland Youth Product, Bobby Beaumont.

The FA Cup provides a great test for The Motors as McGraa is yet to win any game in the competition during his time in Ellesmere Port, last season his team were beaten against a strong Whitchurch Alport side away from home.

Thus, a win would certainly add to the winning atmosphere after being victorious in The NWCFL Challenge Cup Final this Summer against Congleton Town, adding a new trophy to the collection.

The last time that the Motormen visited the Step Places Stadium was in the last league fixture of last season, where Mick McGraa’s men lifted the North West Counties Premier Division title.
