Following Vauxhall’s defeat against South Liverpool last weekend in the Macron Challenge Cup, Mick McGraa’s Motors are back in league action this Saturday afternoon as they play host to Litherland Remyca.

Colin MacDonald’s ‘Remy’ are currently positioned 17th in the NWCFL Premier table. Their last victory came three games ago as Kendal Town were defeated 2-1, where Paul Foy and William Dunne got themselves on the scoresheet.

The previous meeting between the two clubs finished in a 3-1 win for The Motors on September 7th. Luke Denson scored for the hosts as Sean Moscrop and Lewis Buckley netted for the visitors.

Litherland PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Johnny Foy has scored six goals this campaign whereas his teammate Ewan Catt has netted on three occasions.

Litherland FACT.
The Bootle YMCA was once the club’s base, in 1967 the name changed to REM Social after a local working men’s club started financing the club before being named REMYCA United in ‘68. They are named REMYCA to reflect the links with the REM social club and the Bootle YMCA.

After the game against South Liverpool, manager McGraa said: “That was the worst we’ve played for a long, long time. The attitude and effort both weren’t great”. Thus, he will be looking for players to show what they’re capable of after a fantastic start to the league season.

In an attempt to acclimatise to the cashless era, Vauxhall will only be accepting Card payments on the gate this Saturday, with admission prices remaining at £6 for adults, £3 for concessions and U16s free.

Your support is appreciated thus we look forward to seeing you at The VanEupen Arena.
