Vauxhall Motors to take on Winsford United away from home.

Winsford United v Vauxhall Motors.

Saturday 8th April 2023.

NWCFL Premier Division.

Match Preview by Ethan Hoijord.

Vauxhall Motors travel to Winsford United on Saturday afternoon, following their 1-0 win away on Tuesday night at Bury AFC.

It was a cagey affair at Seel Street in midweek as both sides understood the magnitude of the tie. However, Michael Burkey netted just after half time as he rounded keeper Jack Atkinson and The Motormen’s defence remained resilient to see out the three points which sparked great scenes at full time.

On Monday 20th March 2023 a Disciplinary Panel of The NWCFL met with representatives of both Winsford United and Vauxhall Motors to consider a protest under League Rule 16.2 that Winsford had played Vauxhall whilst under suspension from the Cheshire County FA.

As a result, the match played on March 6th, which Winsford had won 1-0, has been declared void with the result removed from the records and the league table updated accordingly. This will be the rescheduled fixture.
