Adam Hughes makes his 100th apprearance for the Motormen
Fans favorite Hughes hits the 100 mark against Prescot Cables
Vauxhall Motors FC are delighted to celebrate Adam Hughes making his 100th appearance for the club today against Prescot Cables.
After first appearing for the Motormen in the 2013/14 season as a sprightly 18 year old attacking winger, Hughesey made 9 appearances before the club resigned from the league at the end of that season. Spells away at Marine and City of Liverpool FC (to name a few), he returned to the club at the business end of the 2023/24 season, shoring up the defence to help Mick McGraa's side win the North West Counties Premier Division.
He firmly established himself as rock solid centre half in the Northern Premier League over the next 3 seasons, his leadership at the back pushing the Motors from relegation threatened to a narrow play-off semi final defeat at Hednesford Town.
A brief spell at 1874 Northwich last year, he returned to the club over the summer break to reunite with ex-1874 manager Chris Herbert, who wasted to time in brining him back to add experience and quality to the Motors backline.
