Club Statement: Saturday 18/07 Fixture

The football club would like to issue the following statement regarding the fixture against Altrincham and the proposed fixture against Mold Alexandra.
 

Vauxhall Motors FC were scheduled to host Altrincham FC in an excellent pre-season friendly tomorrow afternoon which would bring people through the turnstile and ultimately bring money to a club in pre-season with a bumper crowd and an appealing fixture. However, we were saddened to hear that Altrincham had cancelled the fixture with not much notice for tomorrow, which left us looking for alternatives.
 

We put a message out to numerous contacts regarding a fixture opportunity at the Premier Jet Stadium on Saturday afternoon, to which Mold Alexandra were one of the first to come back and take us up on an offer. We were unaware at the time that Mold Alexandra were meant to be visiting Cammell Laird 1907 FC on Saturday afternoon. We did not check this as we didn’t think it was necessary with the offer of our fixture being taken up.
 

After social media comments directed at Vauxhall Motors FC, we then found out that Lairds were meant to host Mold on Saturday afternoon. With this in mind, we have taken the decision to cancel Saturday’s fixture against Mold.
 

Instead, we will visit Liverpool FC to take on a Liverpool XI, behind closed doors. Kick off will be at midday, and post-match reaction will be available on our social media channels tomorrow afternoon.

The Motormen return to the Premier Jet Stadium on Tuesday evening as we host Bala on Rivacre Road.
