John Parker previews our Cheshire Senior Cup semi-final against Runcorn Town

Setting the Scene
Cup football. Under the lights. A place in the final on the line.

Wednesday night brings a huge occasion as we travel to face Runcorn Town in the Cheshire Senior Cup Semi Final with the prize clear for everyone to see. Win, and a final against Crewe Alexandra awaits.

There’s no hiding from it, it’s been a tough Easter period. A frustrating 1-1 draw at home to Chasetown followed by a heavy defeat away at Lower Breck means this is now our third game in five days.

But football doesn’t wait.

Moments like this demand a response. A reaction. A performance that shows what this group is really about.

And with a place in a final on the line, the opportunity couldn’t be bigger.

A Bit About the Club
Runcorn Town arrive into this one on the back of a hugely successful season, having recently been crowned champions of the NWCFL First Division South.

They’ve built momentum, confidence, a winning mentality and will be eager to carry that into cup competition as they look to take another step towards an historic quadruple.

Playing on home soil, they’ll be well-backed and full of belief, making this a real test under the lights.

Men in Charge
Darren Moore and Liam Page lead Runcorn Town FC.

Together, they’ve overseen an impressive campaign, building a side that knows how to win games and handle pressure. Their team reflects that; organised, confident and capable of taking chances when they come.

One to Watch
Forward Connor Spiers is the standout danger man for Runcorn Town FC.

With 21 goals in 29 appearances this season, he’s been a consistent threat and a key reason behind their success. Sharp in and around the box, confident in front of goal and always looking to get on the end of chances, Spiers is a player who can change a game in an instant with his lightning speed and scoring ability.

He’ll be one that needs to be managed carefully throughout.

In Summary
This is where character is tested.

A difficult few days. Heavy legs. Disappointment to respond to. But also a massive opportunity. That’s football.

Now it’s about how we react.

Wednesday night isn’t just another game. It’s a semi-final. It’s a chance to reach a final. It’s a chance to keep something special alive in a challenging moment.

And more than ever, this is where we need everyone together.

Your support matters. Your voice matters. Your belief matters.

Through the highs and the lows, this is the moment to stand with the team.

Because nights like these can define a season.

And this one is there to be taken.
