2025/26 Season Review

The Seals enjoyed another competitive campaign in the National League North, finishing seventh and narrowly missing out in the play-off eliminator with a 2-1 loss to Macclesfield FC after collecting 73 points from their 46 regular league fixtures. Their season demonstrated the consistency and quality expected from one of the division’s strongest clubs, and they will once again have ambitions of challenging at the right end of the table in 2026/27.

Saturday’s fixture therefore offers the Motors another valuable opportunity to test themselves against opposition from a higher level of the non-league pyramid.

The Last Time We Met

The sides last met in November 2025 in the Cheshire Senior Cup, when the Motors claimed an impressive 2-1 victory over a youthful Chester side at the Premier Jet Stadium.

Nathan Corness opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Chester equalised shortly after the interval. Michael Grogan’s late winner secured the Motors’ place in the next round on an evening to remember under the lights.
